Football Stadia Improvement Fund

The Premier League are the sole providers of funding for Football Stadia Improvement Fund which provides grants to improve facilities for clubs in the Football League and further down the football pyramid

The FSIF is the country's largest provider of grants towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game.

The Premier League is the sole funder of the FSIF. 

The Fund began in 2000 and provides grants to improve facilities for clubs from the EFL down to the lower levels of the FA National League System. Grants can be used for the refurbishment and construction of new stands, provision for disabled fans, turnstiles, boundary fencing, dugouts, floodlights, changing rooms and hospitality areas.

Examples of work by the FSIF range from a new stand at Scarborough Athletic accommodating over 800 spectators, to assistance with the construction of a dedicated platform – as well as wider improvement works - allowing Wrexham and the club's Disabled Supporters Association to provide the enhanced facilities for their disabled fans. 

In 12 months, the FSIF has awarded a total of 198 football stadia improvement grants.
